The role of polyacrylamide in the sand grouting treatment of city building foundation

In the engineering construction, the excavation of foundation pit and the piling of foundation are necessary, and these processes will produce a lot of high concentration of sand sewage. In order to ensure environmental safety, the sand sewage generated by foundation piling must be properly treated before discharge, and the treated mud cake needs to be transported to the designated place for landfill. So, what is the effective treatment method for foundation piling sand?
The foundation pile grouting is mainly composed of kaolin particles, fine sand and bentonite, and its PH value and composition vary from region to region. At present, compared with the sedimentation tank method, natural drying method and traditional machine and equipment treatment, drug flocculation treatment is favored because of its advantages of economic and environmental protection and resource recycling. Therefore, many customers tend to use polyacrylamide (PAM) as a flocculant to treat the foundation pile sand.
As a water-soluble polymer, polyacrylamide has shown excellent performance in sludge treatment. When PAM is mixed with the suspended sludge containing fine mud particles, it can effectively play multiple roles such as flocculation, adsorption, bridging, precipitation and trapping. Specifically, PAM can destroy the stability of the sludge, and promote the sand particles to quickly condense and precipitate from the water to achieve effective separation of the sludge. The separated water can be directly recycled, while the sediment can be further dedried by the filter press, and finally transported to the storage yard or backfilled to the designated area.
